Michael and I knew Moira only briefly, during the time the Scott family lived in New Canaan CT. We were -- then and now -- struck by how beautiful Moira was (including how pretty!), and how beautiful was her family's love for her. Here in the States it is unfortunately too common for a handicapped person or an old person to be sent away to and shut into an institution, but Moira was always not only firmly and irrevocably a part of her family but also the nucleus of a community that David and Jill always worked to establish around her.
